Join Friends of Ten Mile Creek and naturalist John Parrish for our annual Autumn Forest Walk through the beautiful woodlands along Ten Mile Creek. This leisurely, mile-long guided walk explores land generously gifted to Friends of Ten Mile Creek by Norman Mease.
Autumn is a wonderful time to experience the forest's changing colors and discover the plants, wildlife, and natural history of this special landscape. We'll explore bottomland and upland forest habitats, looking for late-blooming asters, goldenrods, fragrant Witch Hazel, and three orchid species known to grow in the area. Along the way, we'll identify native trees and shrubs, including Red Maple, Oaks, and the uncommon Shagbark Hickory.
