New Land Gift
New Land Gift. FOTMC is the proud recipient of a generous land donation. Norman Mease, a FOTMC Board Member, donated 52 acres of his land, encompassing both sides of Ten Mile Creek, to the continued care and oversight of Friends of Ten Mile Creek and Little Seneca Reservoir. We look forward to continuing our vigilant and joyful protection of the surrounding forests, wetlands, and waters. We embrace the responsibilities that come with this new land ownership and look forward to new opportunities to protect the land and share the gift of the land with others. There will be more seasonal walks to introduce folks to the area’s fauna and flora and to assist in invasive plant removal to aid the regeneration of native plants. We will also continue to have opportunities to monitor water quality, and increased participation in our many other activities with others who support our mission to protect the unique Ten Mile Creek watershed and Little Seneca Lake Reservoir, an integral component of our regional drinking water system.
